Delmaw Uganda: Deepening Local Commitment under BUBU

Delmaw Enterprises Uganda is moving ahead with the acquisition and renovation of new warehouse facilities in Kampala to strengthen its pharmaceutical and medical equipment distribution operations.

Founded in September 1992 and acquired by Artemis in December 2019, Delmaw is one of Uganda’s established healthcare distributors, employing over 100 people. The company supplies a broad range of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and nutraceuticals to private hospitals, wholesalers, and retailers across the country.

The new facility will consolidate storage, cold-chain, and dispatch operations under one roof, while also housing the Uganda office. It will be built to meet Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards, ensuring proper temperature control, trained staff, and secure handling of all products to maintain their quality and authenticity throughout the supply chain. This development will give Delmaw greater control over logistics, improve efficiency, and reinforce its role as a dependable healthcare supplier in Uganda.

Aligned with the Buy Uganda, Build Uganda (BUBU) initiative, the investment reflects Delmaw’s commitment to operating and investing locally. Renovation will be closely managed with the same precision and execution standards used across other group projects.

This initiative goes beyond securing physical infrastructure. It reflects a deliberate effort to embed ourselves more deeply within the Ugandan ecosystem, investing in the local economy, strengthening institutional trust, and positioning Delmaw as a reliable partner for both public and private sector stakeholders. A permanent footprint also enhances our eligibility for key tenders under BUBU, which increasingly favors firms with tangible local investment and operational capacity.
