Nand Nair Appointed President of AIPROMEM, Mozambique

In a significant development for Mozambique’s import sector, Nand Nair, Group CEO of Artemis Life Sciences, has been elected as the new President of Associação dos Importadores e Produtores de Medicamentos de Mozambique (AIPROMEM): the Ministry of Health–recognized body representing the country’s pharmaceutical importers.

AIPROMEM plays a central role in shaping policy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating industry-wide challenges such as product registration, import timelines, pricing controls, and supply-chain bottlenecks that impact access to essential medicines. With Nand’s background in operational reform across multiple African markets–from improving supplier relationships and logistics to standardizing quality and compliance frameworks–he is expected to strengthen public-private cooperation and push for clearer, more predictable processes across the sector.

His appointment also aligns with Vista Group’s practical priorities in Mozambique: improving reliability of supply, reducing systemic inefficiencies in the import pipeline, and building stronger, locally anchored pharmaceutical operations through Artemis. As the group continues to solidify its presence in the country–particularly in distribution, regulatory coordination, and on-the-ground execution–this role reinforces our commitment to contributing meaningfully to Mozambique’s healthcare system.

Under Nand’s leadership, AIPROMEM is positioned to play a more active role in the country’s health and trade landscape, ensuring the industry operates with higher standards, better coordination, and a long-term view of meeting population needs.

We congratulate Nand on this well-deserved appointment and look forward to the positive impact his leadership will bring!
