Academic City University recently strengthened its global academic engagement through its participation in Intersect 5.0, a two-day education conference hosted by Masters’ Union in Delhi. The event brought together educators, institutional leaders, and industry experts from around the world to discuss the future of higher education and the evolving role of universities in preparing students for real-world challenges.
Academic City and Vista Group leaders played an active role in the conference discussions. Dr. Fred McBagonluri delivered a keynote encouraging students to “trade credentials for competence,” emphasizing the importance of capability, problem-solving, and practical skills in shaping future leaders.
A key panel titled “Building for Africa” featured Dev Varyani (Founder & Chairman, Vista Group), Rajesh Gupta (Group Managing Director, Vista Group), and Pawan Varyani (Director of Strategy, Academic City University). Drawing from their experience across Africa and the Middle East, the panel explored how responsible institution building, stronger industry collaboration, and global partnerships can help strengthen education ecosystems across the continent.
Academic City’s presence at Intersect 5.0 reflects its growing role in international education networks and its commitment to connecting Africa’s talent pipeline with global academic and entrepreneurial ecosystems.

In parallel, Academic City continues to expand its global partnerships through initiatives such as its collaboration with TETR College of Business. As part of this program, more than 100 students from over 40 nationalities have joined the Academic City campus in Accra for a semester-long experience combining classroom learning, hands-on entrepreneurial projects, and cultural immersion.
Together, these initiatives reinforce Academic City’s mission: linking global knowledge, practical learning, and entrepreneurship to support Africa’s next generation of innovators and leaders.
