Artemis Surgical Lda is developing a medical bandage manufacturing facility in Maputo, Mozambique to strengthen local healthcare supply chains and reduce dependency on imports.
Once operational, the facility will have the capacity to produce multiple types of medical bandages, including standard roll bandages and other essential dressing materials used in hospitals and clinics nationwide.
The plant is being designed to meet strict quality and safety standards, with dedicated server and technical rooms, along with restricted-access areas to maintain hygiene and ensure controlled production environments.
At full capacity, the factory will be capable of producing up to one million rolls per year, meeting a significant share of Mozambique’s national demand for medical consumables. The facility will also support long-term procurement contracts, ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality, locally manufactured products for both public and private healthcare institutions.

Once complete, the project will contribute to local job creation, technical skill development, and improved access to reliable medical materials – a key step toward building healthcare self-sufficiency and industrial capability within Mozambique.
Timeline Update:
Construction is progressing steadily, with civil works now well advanced and interior fit-out scheduled to begin shortly. Machinery installation and commissioning are expected to follow thereafter, with production targeted to commence in early 2026.
