End-of-semester event to increase practical exposure for young artists
It was an evening of talent and creativity when students from the School of Fashion Design put up their end-of-semester fashion show at One Corner restaurant garden on November 7, 2018, after weeks of meticulous planning and coordination.
The show, held under the supervision of the Head of Department Mr Rajesh Kumar Pillai, successfully became a platform for budding designers to exhibit their work on an aesthetically appealing stage.

“The idea was to impart the knowledge of do’s and don’ts of a fashion show to our students. We are trying to ensure that the students come up with the output using whatever they have learnt over the semester,” Mr Pillai said.
He added that as many as 90 students had participated in the show. Such an event is organized twice every year at the end of each semester at BlueCrest College. This time, the opportunity to showcase work was offered to students of semester II, III and IV.
The nature of the event was strictly for the students and by the students.
Models sashayed down the ramp in clothes designed using the latest technologies available exclusively to the students at the BlueCrest college campus. The material, colour palettes, silhouettes and fabrics resonated with the individual personality of each SFD student
