The BlueCrest School of Fashion and Design
(SFD) launched the region’s first ever theme-based graduate fashion show on
November 10, 2018. The college authorities planned the show as a showcase for
students to express creativity and designing talents to industry professionals
and the general public. As many as 45 students had participated in the show
titled “Apaso Akasa”, which means ‘scissors talk’ in
the local language Twi.
Model sashayed unique clothing styles and
designs in the event, which is also an essential part of the syllabus. SFD
Ghana plans to scale up the graduate showcase in the coming years. This event
took place at the Provident Centre Events in Labadi, Accra.

In another first, SFD also unveiled an
exclusive logo for the graduate showcase ahead of the show. Hiplife turned
gospel artist Andy Alexander Akrashie, a.k.a ‘OJ BLAQ’, and video sensation
Matilda Hipsy were at the event where the logo got unveiled. Among other
reasons, the logo was designed to add more value to the SFD student portfolio.
