
The Southern Africa Innovation Support Program (SAIS
2) is a regional initiative that supports the growth of new businesses through
strengthening innovation ecosystems and promotion of cross-border collaboration
between innovation role-players in Southern Africa. SAIS 2 is supported by the Ministry for
Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Finland, in partnership with the Ministries
responsible for Science, Technology and Innovation of Botswana, Namibia, South
Africa, Tanzania and Zambia, and the Southern African Development Community
(SADC) Secretariat.
Kas Medics Limited, (Coordinator) Gradian Health
System, USA (Member) Society of Anesthesia Tanzania (SATA) (Member) Society of
Anesthesia Zambia (SAZ) (Member), together received a grant of 182,250.00 Euro
by SAIS for “Scaling Enterprises through stronger innovation support
organization.”
The project name is Scaling Anesthesia Capacity in
SADC Region and the timeline is 18 months.


SAIS 2 has invited mentors and professors from
Loughborough University, London, for a 3-day workshop on how to evaluate the
impact of the project implemented by the US. They also enlightened attendees on how
to write positive, interesting applications to increase interaction between
donors.

At the end of the Workshop, all 9 projects were launched
in presence of the Ambassador of Finland, and PMO of SAIS 2.
