Academic City University has proudly completed its newest on-campus student housing facility, marking a major milestone in the institution’s growth. The residence welcomed its first occupants on September 20, with around 50 students moving into the ground floor rooms.
Construction began in June 2024 and was completed in just over a year, with the building now standing opposite the existing student residence. The facility has been carefully designed to balance comfort, functionality, and community, providing students with a true home away from home.
Key features include:
- Five floors with 256 fully furnished rooms, offering both single and double occupancy, each with private bathrooms.
- Air-conditioning in all rooms, spacious study lounges on each floor, and two shared kitchens per level.
- High-speed internet access, a shared laundry within easy reach, and two standard passenger lifts.
- An outdoor courtyard designed as a communal space for relaxation and interaction.
With this project, Academic City moves closer to its long-term goal of housing at least half of its student population on campus — a vital step for supporting students who cannot realistically commute from home.
Construction Project Manager Stellio Chemane expressed pride in the achievement, thanking the university management, facility team, and partners including Yirenkyi & Son Construction, Chris Electrical, Bio-Filters Ltd, and DE-COTEK Interiors for their commitment to excellence and timely delivery.

This new facility reinforces Academic City’s leadership in student housing and provides an inspiring environment for future generations to learn, live, and thrive.
