Artemis Laboratories Limited, incorporated on August 1, 2022, continues to strengthen Nigeria’s pharmaceutical manufacturing landscape under Artemis Life Sciences Nigeria Limited. The company plays an important role in supporting the healthcare sector by producing high-quality and affordable medicines locally.

A major milestone was achieved in December 2024 when its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility was commissioned by Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, Director-General of NAFDAC. The commissioning reaffirmed the company’s commitment to operating in line with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards.
Artemis currently manufactures oral liquid dosage forms—including analgesics, haematinics, antacids, cough mixtures, antimalarials, and antimicrobial preparations—as well as oral solid dosage forms (tablets) used in widely prescribed pharmaceutical formulations. The company aims to reach 50,000 litres per month in liquid production and 20 million tablets per month by 2026, strengthening domestic pharmaceutical supply and reducing reliance on imports.
To further improve product availability, Artemis has expanded its logistics network by commissioning a new warehouse in Northern Nigeria, with plans to establish an additional warehouse in Eastern Nigeria to enhance nationwide distribution and market coverage.
Artemis Laboratories is supported by a highly skilled workforce comprising experienced pharmaceutical professionals, technical specialists, production teams, and operational staff who maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
Recently, the company successfully completed a surprise NAFDAC regulatory inspection, demonstrating strong documentation practices and operational discipline. Although there were initial challenges in aligning regulatory documentation across departments, a rapid internal audit and coordinated teamwork ensured full compliance ahead of the inspection.
This milestone reflects the team’s strong coordination and commitment to maintaining regulatory standards while scaling local pharmaceutical manufacturing in Nigeria.
