
BlueCrest College as part of its Corporate social responsibly (CSR) has awarded a platinum scholarship worth Ghc 15,000 to needy but brilliant students within the Ayawaso Constituency for the 201/2019 academic year.
The Scholarship award was presented by the Group Chairman, Mr. Dev Varyani to the member of (M.P) parliament for the Ayawaso constituency Hon. Henry Quartey who serves as the Deputy Minister of Interior.
Other beneficiaries of their initiative were winners of the maiden edition of the BlueCrest Train ICT & MATH quiz competition organized by the college in 2017 and participants of the annual national competitive scholarship examinations which were conducted by the college in August 2017. The winners were awarded a scholarship worth Ghc 10,000 bringing the total scholarship value to Ghc 25,000.
BlueCrest College is a premium private tertiary education provider and since its inception a decade ago, as part of its CSR program to promote and enhance quality education has been assisting meritorious students with scholarships to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate programs at their College in academic disciplines like Human Resource, Banking & Finance, ICT, Journalism, Oil & Gas, Project Management, Mass Communication, Fashion & Design among others.

BlueCrest College has been awarded the “Best Private Journalism College” in the country at the annual Africa International Award of Merit. The awarding body, West Africa International Press Ltd, presented the award to BlueCrest College at a recently held International Conference on Parliamentary Democracy in Africa / Awards 2018, in Akosombo in the Eastern Region. The Award and Citation were received by Mr. Sujith Jayaprakash (Registrar) and Mr. Amit Kakhani (Gen. Manager – Finance & Administration).
Group Chairman, Mr. Dev Varyani congratulated the entire Journalism department for their achievement and motivated the student community.
The recognition upheld in high esteem the School of Journalism of the BlueCrest College for their immense and astounding involvement in campaign sensitization exercises over the years within the country and Africa at large.
The Colleges administration and students have since expressed their appreciation for the recognition. Speaking to staff and students at a gathering after the event, the Head of Department of the Mass Communication and Journalism, Mr. Kofi Dzokoto, expressed the school’s profound gratitude to the awarding body for the recognition.
Mr. Dzokoto urged institutions in the country to, as much as possible, be involved in sensitization exercises to help impact positively on the society.
The Rector of the College, Prof. Sunil Kumar Roy, stated that the prestigious award is going to encourage the Institution to do more in providing quality education in Ghana and Africa.
He praised Management and staff of the school for their hard work and diverse contribution in achieving this feat in the history of the school.
This is the latest of many other top prestigious awards that have been received by BlueCrest College.
Wisconsin International University College and Owls Nest International School were among the many institutions which were recognized with awards.
Bluecrest College Honours Its Outstanding Students.

Management of the BlueCrest College at the 2018/2019 Matriculation ceremony took immense pride in celebrating the success and perseverance of some seven students from the different faculties of the institution. The Award ceremony was held to recognize and honour the said meritorious students from the Journalism Department, Business Administration Department, Information and Technology Department and the School of Fashion and Design.
The seven students from the various faculties were decorated with Citations as the Colleges` most outstanding students in their respective department. The awardees were; Mr. Nuhu Mohammed, Mr. Prince Shroeder both from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Madam Mercy Kechi Eke and Madam Hawa Keita from the Business Administration Department.
The remaining are, Mr. Derick Nii Kpakpo Addo of the Business Administration Department, Madam Claudia Mintogo from the Faculty of Information and Technology and Madam Monique Mawulawe from the School of Fashion and Design. Mr. Kofi Dzokoto prior to the awards explained that the gesture was to motivate the awardees to continue their good works and as a motivation for their peers. The event was held on the 6th day of October 2018 at the auditorium of the BlueCrest College-Accra.
BlueCrest College Introduces Computer Aided Fashion Design
BlueCrest College has taken gone a notch higher with the introduction of Certificate in Computer Aided Fashion Design to provide students with the skills and competencies to meet the increasing demand for fashion aficionados.

The 6month course aid the students to designer photo-realistic fashion illustrations, rendering of different fabric textures using the Reach Fashion Studio Software (RFS).
The RFS is a multipurpose software for designs, sales, sampling and printing departments. Packed with features REACH Fashion Studio enables the students to learn 2D, 3D Designs with product visualization, texture mapping, colour reduction and clearing, design and repeat, colourways and colour communication.
The Group Chairman, Mr. Dev Varyani noted that the College has trained 700 students with a vision to reach 7million students in Africa in the next five years.
Speaking at the ceremony in Accra, Dr. Kapil Gupta, Chairman of the Governing Council of BlueCrest College, He noted that CAD enables designers to tailor and customize existing styles and produce new clothing to meet customer needs and desires. Additionally, the advent of cloud-based CAD software has enabled designers to collaborate easily from any location.
Dr. Gupta indicated that computer-aided designers work for retail companies, fashion designers, textile companies, apparel manufacturers and design studios. According to him, CAD programs have enabled the fashion industry to dramatically speed up traditional sketching and alteration tasks.
He added that it affords students and designers the ability to visualize designs in 3D and further helps designers create garments that fit well and ready to wear.
BlueCrest School of Fashion and Design Unveils Logo for Graduate Fashion Show

The BlueCrest School of Fashion and Design has unveiled an official logo for this year’s fashion show slated for November 10, 2018, at the Provident Centre Events in Labadi, Accra.
The event dubbed, “Graduate Showcase,” will afford graduating students the platform to exhibit their fashion creativity and talents to the public.
The 45 graduating students will mount the stage to display self-made clothing styles and designs as part of the requirements for the course. The graduating students made up of certificate, diploma and degree students will also showcase their collections made up of fabrics, designs and many more.
Speaking to ModernGhana on the sideline of the ceremony, the Rector of the School, Prof. Sunil Kumar Roy said the event seeks to promote the fashion creativity of students to the entire world as they prepare to compete in the job market.
He noted that the fashion sense of Ghanaians is very high, the challenge, however, is the practical ways of marketing our designs in order to compete globally with other fashion giants.
The Rector indicated that BlueCrest School of Fashion and Design is poised to bridge the gap with the introduction of their modern technologies as well as a trip to a fashion show in Dubai for selected students to equip them with both practical and theoretical knowledge of their course.
The Academic Head of BlueCrest School of Fashion and Design, Rajesh Kumar Pillai stressed that every semester graduating students showcase their talents and skills they have learnt throughout the course. According to him, the thought of having their own logo for the graduate showcase after several fashion shows with an African essence named, “Apasoↄ Akasa” which means Scissors Talk.
He intimated that guests will be excited with a beautiful collection of designs and fabrics made of African prints. Mr. Pillai emphasized that the school is focused on producing world-class students with the introduction of the first ever Computer Aided Fashion Design.
