Hundreds of designs were
showcased by students of School of Fashion and Design (SFD) successfully for
their end-of-semester fashion show at the college premises on June 14, 2019.
These designers were students of semester II, III and IV, and displayed their
collections as mandated by SFD’s unique curriculum.
Students were grouped
based on their semesters, and each semester chose a fashion-related concept as
a theme for their collections. For example, students of semester II opted for “Convertible
Fashion”
that explored ways to use a single piece of garment in different ways,
whereas student of semester III opted for “Countries
of Modern Africa”.
Semester IV, which had 35
young designers participating in this show, chose the theme “Brides
of the World”.
Each student created three pieces, each for the bride, bridesmaid and flower
girl at weddings in different cultures and countries.
There were 45 students
from semester II and 30 from semester III. In total, 200 designs were showcased
in the event.
