Academic City University’s Senior Leadership Team recently came together for a Strategic Leaders Retreat, taking stock of progress against Strategy 2030 and identifying priorities to sustain and accelerate momentum in the years ahead.
A key part of the retreat was a review of the milestones achieved across the University’s strategic pillars. Leaders celebrated the progress made, acknowledged areas of strength, and held forward-looking discussions on the actions, partnerships, and leadership practices needed to build on these successes and reach the ambitious goals set out in Strategy 2030.
The retreat also included a dedicated Team Effectiveness session facilitated by Anita Wiafe, an HR consultant. Through practical discussions and interactive exercises, participants explored ways to strengthen collaboration, sharpen accountability, improve communication, and align teams around shared institutional priorities–reinforcing the role effective leadership plays in building high-performing teams that can execute the University’s strategic agenda.
Beyond reviewing progress, the retreat reaffirmed a shared commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and collective leadership. As Academic City continues its journey toward becoming Africa’s premier STEM and entrepreneurial university, the retreat marked an important moment to align priorities, strengthen collaboration, and keep up the momentum needed to realise the Strategy 2030 vision.
