Under the Artemis Life Science banner, Kas Tanzania Group is proud to announce the growth of its manufacturing arm — Kas Biotech Ltd (KBL) — Tanzania’s first local producer of In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) test kits.
Established in 2020 and fully operational by the end of 2021, KBL was founded with a simple goal: bring diagnostic manufacturing closer to home. Today, its GMP- and ISO-certified facility produces up to 30,000 kits per month, serving hospitals and laboratories across the region.
What began with three key products — the H. pylori Ag, Urine Pregnancy Test, and Typhoid Ab kits — has since expanded to a portfolio of eight, including malaria and hepatitis diagnostics.
With new kits for HIV, Syphilis, and Cardiac Troponin already in development, KBL is setting its sights on Phase II — producing in-house raw materials, scaling capacity, and expanding exports across East Africa. Kas Biotech stands as a milestone in Tanzania’s journey toward self-reliant, high-quality healthcare manufacturing.
